Hello,
I am a professional artist best-known for my work in watercolor, pencil, gouache and acrylic. My artwork is on display in collectors’ homes across the US and beyond. I have also had the honor of creating vibrant illustrations for children’s books, lecture presentations, music albums, and a book of limericks held in special collection at a university.
I love to create in a style I call “whimsical realism.” While I meticulously work to capture light, shadow and color to achieve a vivid lifelikeness in my work, I also endeavor to infuse my creations with a quirky playfulness. I believe that adding this spark of whimsy helps my artwork take on a life of its own.
If you haven’t already, you are cordially invited to visit my “work” section and spend some time with these little worlds I’ve gotten to create on canvas and page. If you would like to find out more about a particular piece or commission a custom artwork of your own, please send me a message below; I would be delighted to hear from you.
Yours Creatively,
Joshua Ritchie
